Adaptive Path UX Week 2007
If it's August, it's time for Adaptive Path's User Experience Week in Washington, DC.
I've had the opportunity to go every year since 2004 making this my fourth UX Week in a row. Looking back at my notes from previous conferences, I'm struck by how much our profession has evolved in such a short period of time. Back in 2004 we were all deeply concerned about spreading the gospel of web standards, 37 Signals had just launched Basecamp, and Jeff Veen was railing against treating content management systems as silver bullets.
With each passing year, the focus has sharpened.
This year, I'm excited to hear Deborah Adler talk about the ClearRX system she designed for Target. I'm also going to get to hear all about how stickie notes are a great design tool, what it takes to manage a creative team effectively, how I can collaborate with users to generate design ideas, and many many more interesting subjects.
Expect the usual onslaught of note-taking from me as the week progresses. I have an extra battery and my power adapter packed for expressly that purpose.
