A good day

I try not to talk about work in these pages but I've now been at my new job almost five months and just had my first review with my supervisor. I knew this was coming for a few weeks and was surprised at how nervous I was about it. You see, I really love my "new" job. It gives me all the things I thought it would when I took the plunge and accepted it. I love working on a creative team. I love getting to work on lots of different projects and I love working in a place where my goofy ideas are valued and, when they are good ones, acted on.

When I knew I would get my review delivered to me I started to get scared that, in the face of nothing but positive feedback and affirmation, I would learn that they don't like me as much as I like them (and yes I know that makes me sound twelve).

The truth is that they think I am doing a great job. I got high marks for completing projects on time, for creativity, for communication skills, for being able to collaborate, for enthusiasm, for my eagerness to learn new things, and for always sharing my ideas and suggestions with the rest of the crew.

So here's to taking the plunge and following your gut to new opportunities. It worked out for me and can work out for you too!
