One Day or One Trial

I just received a my second Juror Summons ever and I am very excited!

Jury duty is the rare opportunity for non-lawyers and non-litigants to get a brush with American justice. The first time I was called up for duty was in Peoria, IL, when I was a teenager. I sat in the jury room all day reading Bertrand Russel while I eagerly awaited being summoned to a trial, sadly I went home at the end of the day with only the experience of the waiting room.

Maybe this time I will get called to be on a jury pool...

Does anyone have any stories of jury duty to share with me?

No jury duty stories, but it's been like slogging through the OJ trial waiting for you to start blogging again. Jeez!

I was just checking Technorati to see if anyone had posted a jury duty travelogue, if you will, and found your post. I just completed a 5-week trial and will be posting many stories soon. One is up at my url here. More to come. Hope yours is interesting.

While I've never actually been summonsed for jury duty, I did get a Peoria County questionnaire to potentially put me in a jury pool. I had just moved to Chicago, though, and completely forgot to fill it out. Another questionnaire came with a threat of a bench warrant, so I happily checked the "I no longer reside in Peoria County" box and mailed 'er away.
