Musica

Yes SXSW is known, above all else, for music. Yes I have access to the performances. No I have not been doing as well as I should about attending. In my defense, I am here to geek out and have been learning an incredible amount and having very productive meetings, yaddah yaddah yaddah.

The music I have seen is great and it is a completely different experience than the rest of the week has been. Now that Austin is filled with musicians everything is different. The swag is better, there are more parties with free booze and food (though more booze than anything else), the people are more gorgeous than we geeks, and the swag is better.

Yesterday I caught a few small shows at Emo's and a few other venues downtown and then fell asleep prematurely from exhaustion (partying for days on end with übergeeks takes a lot out of a guy). Today I checked out the amazing Waterloo music store and caught Soundtrack of Our Lives and the Bravery.

Tonight I hope to catch a few more bands but we shall see. I am quickly learning that enjoying going to show every few weeks or so and going to shows three or four times a day require very different personalities, I am definitely the former.

At least I get to geek out to my heart's content.
