Heading Home

South-by, as they call it down here, ends today. I am all packed and ready to head to the airport.

This week was simply staggering. Every hour I met someone whose blog I read in NetNewsWire. I learned an incredible amount at the interactive seminars but the meat of the week was hanging out in the evenings with the best and the brightest of my profession.

At about three in the morning on Sunday night Andrew Huff, editor of Gapers Block, summed it up saying, "this is where it's at." The evening events are where the conversation gets free-wheeling and interesting. We heard designer extraordinaire Shaun Inman sing, watched a great short film by Ryan Gantz, listened to great stories, and talked all manner of geekiness.

I spent most of my time hanging out with two great new friends. I met a bunch of web pro's from DC and look forward to getting more involved with the community. I vented, thought, talked, debated, and laughed.

This week was amazing and I can't wait for next year!
