Don't Play The Sex Lottery. Use A Condom
The British National Health Service has unveiled a racy new campaign to target soaring rates of STD infection among the young. The site has a great "Hide This Site Now button that generates a spoof desktop for more modest readers.
In addition to the web site, NHS is distributing fake Valentine cards. According to the Guardian:One of the cards shows a pink teddy bear with its face twisted in pain and the message "I love you so much it hurts ... when I pee." Another has a couple in a romantic sunset beach scene with rhyming verse: "Oh Valentine, since you came to me you're always in my thoughts, I'll never forget the night we met and you gave me genital warts."The campaign will also advertise on radio and in tabloids.
One 50-second advertisement asks: "Which of 25 sexually transmitted infections could Cupid bring you tonight? Genital warts ... Yes, this Valentine's, don't forget those three little words, human papilloma virus. Surprise your loved one with cauliflower lumps on your genitals. And warts this? They could spread to your bottom and scrotum. Have them cut off, but they may not leave you for good. It's perfect for incurable romantics - an incurable virus. You can be together for ever."Seeing something like this that reaches out to my generation and younger in attempt to inform us without condescending it reminds me that this couldn't happen here. This administration is committed to delivering patently false abstinence only sex education that trumps up condom failure rates and ignores the real choices young people make every day.

This site is wonderful! Counseling pregnant women all day does make me wonder how one can get through life not knowing where one's cervix is, much less what could be growing on it.
