Metrosexual Normativity!

| | Comments (1)

First the gay TV craze was replaced by rich people TV (how boring) and now metrosexuality itself has been coopted by the man.

Never mind that the whole idea of metrosexuality is that straight guys should spend too much money on moisturizer just as their gay friends are assumed to do. Now the almost metrosexual guy in your life can get over the hump at one of four Loews hotels.
Our unique Metro Man package will help any man polish his look, improve his culinary skills and refine his taste... all in the name of becoming more attractive and dashing to women. The Loews Metro Man is a 24-hour transformation featuring services to educate, pamper and makeover a man. He'll get a two-hour tasting meal, etiquette info, wine knowledge, manicure or pedicure, haircut and shave and a consultation with a personal shopper*. The package includes all this plus accommodation for one night. For even more enhancements, there's also the Metro Man Deluxe. It's two nights which builds on all of the above services, and adds things like waxing, a facial, dental bleachings and more*. The Deluxe package is tailor-made for each man, and is priced accordingly.

Hey, the holidays are coming up fast. Couldn't the man in your life go for a wax and teeth whitening?

cosmetics for men? you betcha, including eyeliner, 'skin corrective' and 'beard/brow corrective' make up and applicators, as well as lip moisturizer with a 'hint of natural color.' maybe not exactly what i'd like, but i won't argue too hard because it's significantly breaking out of the man box. bring on the consumerism! they even tie it to preppy and the return of the 80s in politics. the copy writers must have had a good time writing this stuff.
