US Plans Death Camp

Australia's Herald Sun and Britain's Daily Telegraph have both reported that the US is planning to construct a death row and execution chamber at Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Prisoners would be tried and executed at the camp under authorization of the President's executive orders establishing military tribunals for the trial of terrorist suspects.

David Rennie of the Daily Telegraph was told that building a Death Row at Guantanamo "is one of the plans" by Maj Gen Geoffrey Miller, head of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in charge of suspects from Afghanistan and across the globe.

The base currently holds over 680 terrorist suspects from 43 countries. Some prisoners are under the age of 18. Under pressure from the international community and the Red Cross the US has begun repatriating some prisoners. These released prisoners will provide a window into the behavior of American troops at Guantanamo.
